I know it's late, but here are our halloween pictures finally! The girls and I carved a pumpkin and for amateurs, I think it turned out pretty good.
Olivia was a pretty princess riding a unicorn. Every day she watches me put on my makeup and wants me to put some on her. I usually do blush and some sparkles but she always wants "the dark makeup" (Mascara). She has these amazingly long eyelashes so I have been curious to see her with mascara, but won't let her wear it. So when the day came to get all dolled up she was SOOO excited to get to wear it. She is so pretty and was a beautiful princess! People kept asking me if I put fake lashes on her. :) Oh and the Unicorn had stuffing in it's neck to keep it from flopping over but the stuffing fell down into the legs, but I didn't have time to fix it and this was on Friday to go to Cory's work, so we left it. But cute Cory fixed it for her for halloween. I somehow didn't take any pictures though :(
Lillie was a darling little ladybug. She was so cute! She kept putting her hands up and touching the head part of the costume, doing a gentle high pitched scream and saying "BUD! BUD!" (bug). She had seen it laying out and called it a bug so when she felt it on her head she would yell it out. Not scared, just yelling it out. I asked her what a ladybug says and she did a raaar. in case you were wondering...that's what they say.
We went to Cory's work and the girls lost their mind! There were 5 floors of cubicles all decorated into spook alleys and fishing ponds all different themes (one even had santa claus) and they went around and around filling their buckets. Lillie caught on really quick! She kept reaching into the same basket over and over to fill up her own. :)
Cory was Frankenstein and I was my good 'ol standby. Cory went to Austria on his mission and came back with some traditional austrian dresses. I think it's called a dirndle? or something like that. So I put that on and wear braids. People usually guess Heidi, grettle, swiss miss girl, or ricola girl. I just say yes.
Lillie was so fascinated by the supposed to be scary stuff. She would do her fake gentle high pitched scream and then touch the stuff or kiss it. She started dancing with this thing at the end of the video. You can see Olivia for part of it, far away over by me, watching Lillie. It was actually good to have Lillie show Olivia that it's all fake and not scary. Olivia really loosened up after awhile and would touch stuff and giggle with Lillie about it.
Her second game she was much more comfortable and actually started cheering for her teammates. At one point she even ran away from the goal, into the crowd of kids, and tried to kick the ball. She ran back to the goal really fast though. I think this will be soo good for her and it will help build her self confidence. We're lucky to have such a great coach who doesn't yell or push the kids, but gently encourages them. It's exactly what Olivia needs.
